Photographer Guidelines

DIGITAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

- ALL IMAGES must be color correct, clean and not sharpened.

- Scanned Film
Save in the Adobe RGB 1998 or Profoto color space.
Save as a PC tif.

- Digital Camera
Images must have been taken on a minimum 6 megapixel camera.
Convert all images whether jpg or raw to PC tif.
Save in the Adobe RGB 1998 or Profoto color space.
Save as 8 bit file PC tif.

- Caption and copyright information should be entered into the IPTC description field. If you cannot enter IPTC info please include a text file with the captions and filenames.

- CD and DVD should be written in a cross platform format that can be read on a Mac or PC.

IDAHO STOCK IMAGES CAPTIONING GUIDELINES

- Detailed captioning of all images is essential in order to attain all possible sales. The more information on the image, the more profitable it will be. Applicable information should include the following:
- Location information: Where was the photo taken? State, city, nearest town, state park, wildlife refuge.

- Specifics of the scene: Mountain ranges or peaks, including elevation; rivers, lakes, trails, roads, highways
- Time of day and season: Sunset, sunrise, dusk, twilight, night, spring, summer, fall, winter.

- Activity in the scene: Kayaking, hiking, fishing, biking, boating, skiing, logging, mining, etc.

- People in the scene: Woman, man, couple, family, child, children, girl, boy, ethnicity, etc.

- Wildlife with scientific/Latin name

- Flora with scientific/Latin name

- Industry: Mining, timber, logging, agriculture, tourism, transportation

- Model or property release: If applicable, model release should be included in the caption as MR and property release as PR.
